Aceh Southwest

Southwest Aceh Regency is one of the districts in Aceh Province, Indonesia. This district was established after the passing of the Republic of Indonesia Act No. 4 of 2002.




Southwest Aceh as a result of expansion of the South Aceh Regency is not the excesses of the reform in 1998 alone. Although changes in the national government was accelerating the division, but the discourse to the division itself has developed since around the 1960's.

Southwest Aceh rely on agriculture and trade for its economic survival. This is supported by a very strategic position on the trade route west region of Aceh, especially the city Blangpidie who had always a trading center on the west coast of Aceh.




Actually, if security conditions improved, a lot of potential that can be extracted in the region, such as tourism, because of its position as a combination between the Indian Ocean coast and Bukit Barisan green.




In addition, Southwest Aceh could be developed as a regional agro-industry, agribusiness and integrated livestock and other sectors will grow.

Mining




Southwest Aceh Regency has the potential of mineral resources is quite rich, including Iron Ore, Zircon Sand and Galena.
