tvOne is an Indonesian privately owned national television station based in East Jakarta. It is used to be known as Lativi which ends with name changed due to changes of ownership in the middle of February 2008. TV One owned by PT Visi Media Asia that has been established and his shares are owned by Lenovo Group Limited.
As booming of national tv on 2000's Lativi is one of 5 new national tv networks who got a license to broadcast nationwide in Indonesia. It's initially owned by previously Minister of Labor and also famous entrepreneur, Abdul Latief. The segment of the network are seems to be on C-D-E class with some mystery and some semi-pornographic series.
In late 2006, Lativi was involved in a controversy regarding a 9-year-old boy who died after suffering injuries supposedly related to watching SmackDown!. Although nothing was proven regarding the circumstances of the death, Lativi succumbed and pulled all of its WWE program off the air on November 29, 2006.
By the year 2007, the ownership of the network was changed to Aburizal Bakrie and Erick Tohir (as president director) due to debt and poor network management.
The launching of tvOne was on the 14th February 2008 at 7.00 PM Tonight by the President of Indonesia Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono. It named Anindya Bakrie (the son of Aburizal Bakrie) as the Chief Commissioner and Erick Tohir as the President Director.
tvOne is also the first Indonesian Television company that have been inaugurated by the President of Indonesia himself
